D (Suggestive Dialogue)
A group of Millennials' night takes a turn when the lights suddenly go out.... "Cloverfield" meets "High Maintenance" in this 'experimental political-art- dramedy', meant to inspire and alert Americans to the dangers of not taking up the most powerful arms afforded them; their vote. Ben Myers is an award winning director and producer of films and digital series. He wrote and directed the short film The Vanity (2016), which enjoyed a successful festival run, seasons 1 and 2 of the web series The Anonymous Lives of John and Jane (2015/16) and most recently helmed the digital docu-series Best Bars in Brooklyn (2018). Ben is a prolific producer and auteur director with numerous projects in development.
This is a film about people my age, about millennials, who feel they have the privilege to sit out our democratic process. It’s easy to think your vote doesn’t matter- until the consequences land on your doorstep.
I hope viewers will see themselves in these characters and feel motivated to participate, get involved, and get invested in the fate of this young, vulnerable country. Millennials have the power to shape the future they want. The only question is, will they?
